Background
The drug and alcohol treatment and recovery workforce transformation programme aims to improve the capacity, composition, and quality of the Local Authority-commissioned drug and alcohol treatment and recovery workforce through a range of new initiatives. The programme is being led by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities and delivered in partnership with NHS England. It aims to improve the recruitment, retention, development and training in the sector.
Evaluation Questions
This evaluation will seek to answer the following questions:
- What are the contextual and attitudinal factors which influence employees’ perceptions and experiences of working within the drug and alcohol treatment and recovery system?
- Are these contextual and attitudinal factors changing over the course of the delivery of the Workforce Transformation Programme, and if so, in what ways?
